If winners are grinners, then we are a sad and sorry bunch at Aldinga. Following the announcement of the Children's Book of the Year Awards many groans of disappointment and exclamations of "What the ...?!" were heard around the workroom.

Doodledum dancing, waltzed nowhere
Ella Kazoo, may as well not had hair
the Foundling, is forever lost
and Leaf Litter is definitely compost.
